Guests can experience and
enjoy a glimpse of Amana's past by learning the history of the region
from the owners who are decendants of original communal period
residents.
The Cloister Haus personifies all that makes the
Amana Colonies region an attraction for those who appreciate its simple
beauty and the culture of the Swiss and German immigrants who settled
here.
Our facility allows you to stay at the Amana Colonies and
help another worthy cause at the same time. We are a non-profit business
entity that donates the profit remaining after operating expenses are paid to retreats for pastors and their wives.
We
require a fee of $90.00 per room for each night's stay. Half of
the fee is used to defray our expenses. Since we are a 901c (3)
tax exempt corporation under I.R.S regulations, you can deduct the
profit portion or one half of the nightly fee as a tax exempt donation
to our organization when your next income tax return is prepared, if
you itemize deductions.
Our rooms accomodate two people and the fee includes a full breakfast for two people each day.
One, two, and three bedroom family style units with kitchen, dining and living areas are also available.
